#PhotographYourFamily | My "why"

Trust me when I say...I hate being in front of the camera.

I was never one to like my photograph being taken, ever. I always dreaded it in high school because I hated every single photograph I was in. I never thought highly enough of myself.  Becoming a professional photographer has changed the way I view myself tremendously because for years I've been showing people how beautiful they really are. I would look at photographs some people picked apart of themselves and thought "how? you are absolutely beautiful in this" and it took me years to realize that I was doing the same thing to myself.

If we rewind to just about over a decade ago, my grandma was severely ill with lung cancer. Looking back through photographs I've realized how little of images I have with her. Of course I have some when I was a baby, but I was 11 years old when she passed away and I probably have 1 final image with her that I can think of. I love that image with her, and I'll cherish it forever but it made me realize that we should just be photographing our family regardless of being sick or not. Life makes crazy, unexpected turns and you never know what you're going to hold on to the rest of your life.

So yes, I stepped in front of the camera and I photographed my "why". Why I am so incredibly happy with my life right now and why I photographed the some of the most cutest living beings in my life.  I want to thank Rachel at RachelLizPhotography for doing this session for us last minute and being so awesome. I want to thank my dog, Farrah for making us laugh in these photographs because she is seriously insane. Annnd one more thanks to my awesome boyfriend, Adam who is a kickass photographer himself and for being my one number supporter in life.

xoxo,
Megan
